Seminar on Piping Design Engineering and Construction
Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) organized a seminar on “Piping Design Engineering and Construction” on Tuesday 27th August 2024. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Ravi Jorigal, Manager-Business Development, Asian Academy, Pune. The seminar was organized for students of third and final year Mechanical Engineering students. Contents discussed in seminar were: Current situation in process industry, requirement of piping design engineers and placement situation in process industry. The seminar was coordinated by Prof. (Dr). B.B. Kabnure under the direction of Director Prof. (Dr.) L.S. Admuthe and HOD Prof. (Dr.) V.R. Naik.
TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION
Every year 5th September is celebrated as Teachers' Day in the country. A day dedicated to teachers and their contributions to shaping one's life. On Monday, 09th September 2024 Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) of the Mechanical Engineering department organized a Teachers Day Function to felicitate teachers. The function began with the worship of a photo of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. During the function, Prof. (Dr.)V. R. Naik Head of the department expressed his views about future opportunities, entrepreneurship, and challenges to be faced due to changing industrial needs. The faculties from the Mechanical department were present at this event. Students shared their love and affection towards teaching and non-teaching faculties from the department. The event was coordinated by Prof. (Dr). B.B. Kabnure under the guidance of Director Prof. (Dr.) L.S. Admuthe and HOD Prof. (Dr.) V.R. Naik.
Career Guidance for Students on the occasion of Engineers Day
Seminar on “Career Guidance for Students”
The Mechanical Engineering Department and MESA organized a seminar on Career Guidance for students. The session was led by HOD Mechanical Department. Prof. Dr.V.R. Naik, who provided valuable insights into future career opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering. Students were also guided by Social Dean Prof. S.G. Kanitkar, who emphasized the importance of consistent effort and encouraged students to adopt innovative ways of thinking. The seminar was both informative and motivating, giving students a clear direction for their professional journeys ahead. This event was organised on 20 September 2024 on the occasion of “Engineers Day” celebration. Faculty members and students of Mechanical Engineering Department were present on this occasion.
The event was organized by the Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA), led by President Vishwaraj Amar Patil, Vice-President Saniya Chougle, Secretary Tanmay Vayangankar, and with the support of Prof. Dr.Bahubali Kabnure as the Faculty Coordinator under the direction of HOD Prof. (Dr.) V.R. Naik and Director Prof. (Dr.) Mrs. L.S. Admuthe.
Guest lecture on Introduction to PLM and Career opportunities in PLM
Mechanical Engineering Department and Mechanical Engineering Student’s Association (MESA) organized an expert talk on “Introduction to PLM and Career opportunities in PLM” on 18th April 2025. Mr. Jayant Chavan, R & D Development Manager at Dassault Systems Ltd. Pune was the speaker for the event. He explained what is PLM? Components of PLM, PLM business process map and PLM tools. He also elaborated on benefits and importance of PLM. Major PLM software’s were discussed and career opportunities in PLM sector were deliberated. Students of second year and third year mechanical engineering class attended the expert lecture. The session was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) V. P. Gaikwad under the direction of Prof. (Dr.) V. R. Naik, HOD (Mech) and Prof. (Dr.) L. S. Admuthe, Director, Textile and Engineering Institute.
MECHARTISTRY
Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) organized a Technical event named “Mechartistry” on Friday 7th Feb 2025 for first year and second year students. The event featured in two rounds:

Round 2: Presentation
The event aimed to enhance students drawing skill and refine their technical communication abilities, which are crucial for their academic and professional growth.
A total of 70 students from mechanical engineering department participated in the event. Prof. G.C.Mekalke and Prof. S.B.Rayjadhav served as judges for the event. The Event was organized by MESA Committee and Co-ordinated by Prof. B. B. Kabnure under the direction of Director Prof. (Dr.) L.S. Admuthe and HOD Prof. (Dr.) V.R. Naik.

The function began with the worship of a photo of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The faculties and students from the Mechanical department were present at this event. The Mechanical Engineering Department, in association with the Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA), organized an expert session on “Entrepreneurship Development” on Friday 15th September 2023 on account of Engineers Day for the students of Mechanical Engineering. The session was conducted by Mr. Ikhalas Patel, Director of Adroit Engineers, Shiroli. The important aspects of entrepreneurship were elaborated during the session. Also, various thrust areas in the manufacturing sector with skills requirements for entrepreneurship development were shared with students. The outcomes of the session will be helpful for students to start a business. The session was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) B.B. Kabnure under the direction of Prof. (Dr.) V.R. Naik.
“Paper Presentation” @ Mastermind 2K23
DKTE’s Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) organized Mastermind 2K23. This event comprised a Technical Paper presentation. The events got a huge response from the students. More than 45 students actively participated in this event. The theme for the paper presentation was ‘Solution for Sustainability and Development. More than 10 teams actively participated in this event. Prof. S.R. Patil, Prof. R.D. Patil, and Prof. R.R. Kolhapure were the judges for the event.Prof. (Dr.) B.B. Kabnure coordinated the event under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) V.R. Naik.

Career Guidance Cell organized a webinar on "Career Challenges in the Engineering Era" for second and third year students on 18 Jan, 2025. DKTE’s Trustee Hon. Mr.Ravi Awade and Mr. D. K. Singhal, Director of Chandpur Papers Ltd. delivered expert lectures.

Conducted “Car Clay Modeling Event” in AICTE Idea Lab on 18 Mar. 2023. Total 27 groups from different colleges from different discipline participated.

Mechanical Engineering Department - Silver Jubilee Celebration(1992 - 2017)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been the spirit of this Premier Institution. This Department is the Alma mater of several Technocrats and Researchers in India and Abroad. The Silver Jubilee celebrations were started on 28th July, 2017 with the inaugural function at the auspicious hands of Hon’bleShri.K.B.Awade, Chairman of DKTES..Dignitaries who were present on this occasion includes, Shri. Prakash Awade, Vice-Chairman , Dr. Sou. S. U. AwadeHon.Secretary, Mr. R.V. Ketkar Treasurer, Trustees Mr.AshokSoundattikar, Mr. S.D.Patil and Adv.S.M.Kulkarni. Dr.P.V.Kadole Director of D.K.T.E, Dr.V.R.Naik H.O.D. Mechanical Department, all Teaching and Supporting Faculties and Students were present for this Ceremony.

Engineers’ Day Celebration & Silver Jubilee Monument was inauguration
On this auspicious occasion of Engineers’ Day, a Silver Jubilee Monument was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Muller, Senior Expert Services, Germany and Director of our Institute Dr. P.V. Kadole. As a part of Silver Jubilee of Department of Mechanical Engineering, a Monument contest was organized in the department. Overwhelming response to this context was received from students. The best monument design was selected for installation.
