The symposium provides a national academic platform for the presentation of research papers, innovative concepts, creative designs, and entrepreneurial ideas, thereby fostering scholarly interaction, innovation, and professional development among students.

1. Paper Presentation
Innovating Textiles with Nature and Science
This event focuses on sustainable textile innovations that integrate eco-friendly chemistry, biotechnology, circular economy principles, and smart textile technologies. The aim is to highlight research and advancements that reduce environmental impact while improving textile performance, durability, and functionality.
Topics of Presentation
Participation Protocols
- Eligibility: UG, PG, Diploma, and Ph.D. students from Textiles/Fashion disciplines
- Team Size: 1 or 2 members
- Presentation Time: 8 minutes presentation + 2 minutes Q&A
- Presentation to be sent via email after registration

2. Design Collection & Presentation (DCP)
Theme: Contemporary Sustainable Fashion
The Design Collection & Presentation event focuses on modern, trend-relevant sustainable fashion that addresses today’s environmental and lifestyle needs. Participants are encouraged to develop innovative garments using eco-friendly materials, zero-waste design approaches, and sustainable functional textiles suitable for contemporary markets.
Participation Protocols
- Eligibility: UG, PG, Diploma, B.Voc, and Ph.D. students from Textiles/Fashion disciplines
- Team Size: Maximum 2 members (one member may act as the model)
- Each team will be provided with a display board for portfolio presentation
- Portfolios may include mood board, fabric sheet, trims board, illustrations, cost sheet, etc.
- Ladies garments must not have deep necklines and should not be shorter than knee length
- On-the-spot registration will not be permitted

Student Innovation & Start-Up Challenge
STARTEX 7.0 provides a platform for students to present innovative business ideas related to sustainable textiles, biodegradable materials, technology-driven waste management solutions, and transparent digital supply chains aimed at building a circular and responsible textile industry.

- Team Size: Maximum 2 members
- Presentation: Maximum 15 slides
- Business plan must be displayed on an A3-size banner
- Abstract submission is mandatory

4. Eye on Pick
Fabric Identification & Analysis Competition
Eye on Pick is a technical individual event designed to assess participants’ fabric identification and analytical skills. Participants will identify fabrics based on weave or knit structure, fiber content, functional properties, and sustainability aspects, promoting awareness of responsible textile practices and smart textile innovations.
Participation Protocols
- Individual participation only
- Participants must bring their own pick glass
- Fabric samples will be provided on the spot
Entry Fee: ₹250 per participant
