Civil Engineering Department organized One-Day Seminar for students on the topic “Modern Softwares in Civil Engineering” on 12th June 2019. This was organized by Students’ Chapter of The Institution of Engineers, India of Civil Engineering Department and ‘CADD Centre Training Services Private Limited, Chennai’.

“Modern Softwares in Civil Engineering”

Civil Engineering Department conducted one day faculty training workshop on the topic “Transportation Engineering”. This workshop was conducted in collaboration with ‘The Institution of Engineers (India)’ - Kolhapur Local Centre. Experts from Globe Trek Engineering Corporation, Mumbai - Mr. Rohan Chiplunkar, Mr. Rupesh Jagdish Gavand and Mr. Manish Kumar Singh provided hands on training to faculty members of Civil Engineering on various equipments, to help them conduct research-oriented activities. Various tests such as Aggregate Impact Testing, Aggregate Crushing Test, Dynamic Cone Penetrometer, Standard Penetrometer, Softening Point (Ring & Ball), Tar Viscometer, Pensky Marten Flash Point, Ductility Test Machine, Film Stripping Device, CBR Testing Machine, Los Angles Abrasion test etc. were thoroughly conducted. All Teaching faculties and laboratory Assistants of Civil Engineering Department were present for the workshop.

Civil Engineering Department organized construction site visit to DRX RMC Concrete Plant for students to explore the information on “Building Construction Materials”. In this site visit, Er. Nitin Patil, Engineer & Contractor, Jaysingpur gave detailed information of different building materials, their types like cement, sand & aggregates.

Civil Engineering Department organized construction site visit for students to explore the information on “Building Construction and Materials”. In this site visit Er. Riyaz Satti, President of Association of Engineers and Architects, Ichalkaranji, gave detailed information of different building materials and their types like sand, steel, aggregates and cement. He also gave information about Site Plan, R.C.C. components like beam, column, lintel etc.
