  • Established in the year 1992, the department offers UG and PG courses and has recognized PhD research center.
  • The department has been accredited Four times by the National Board of Accreditation.
  • Emphasis is on industry-institute interaction activities; a need for UG and PG. Programmes.
  • Department, the teaching and non-teaching staff has actively participated in the development of the Department.
  • All the furniture required for classrooms, office and staff rooms is designed and fabricated by the Department in Mechanical Workshop.
  • From time to time addition of various experimental set-ups, equipments viz. CNC machine, CAD laboratory, Product Development Lab, Mechatronics Lab , Bosch Rexroth Center of Competence in Automation, Smart Foundry Lab, Engine and Fuel Research lab , AICTE IDEA Lab and Wi -Fi Internet facility of 1Gbps lease line etc. has resulted in sate of art in fracture for students.
  • Department of Mechanical Engineering has contributed very actively in the academic activities of Shivaji University , Kolhapur . The participation includes Board of Studies Chairmanship & syllabus revision workshops .
  • The Department has encouraged the staff members to improve their qualifications by sponsoring and deputing for M.E., M.Tech. & Ph.D. programmes.
  • The Department also has conducted various industry sponsored Workshops for teaching staff of engineering colleges and practicing engineers, to impart latest training in related technological area.

  • Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, and review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified need with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

  • PSO 1. Students are able to comprehend Mechanical Engineering principles, formulate and solve engineering problems, design and modify Mechanical Engineering components, systems and processes and apply them for all real life problems.
  • PSO 2. Students are able to interpret drawing, handbooks, manuals, engineering catalogue, design data book, draw engineering drawings and operate course related machines, devices, instruments and industry relevant software and manage requirement and challenges of industry effectively.
