About Alumni Association

After each academic year every teaching institute becomes richer in terms of alumni students and serious approach is needed for making this richness mutually beneficial – both of the institute and for the alumni students.

As per as DKTE is concerned we are actively involved in alumni activities since 1989. DKTE Alumni Association is officially registered body with Charity Commissioner’s Office, Kolhapur from 2009. Our membership strength at present is more than 14,500 registered members and one interesting factor is all the engineering and management sections are actively involved in these activities.

Like other institutes we also work through the following activities:-

Formal get-togethers.
Special get-togethers as per occasions like specific conferences, exhibitions etc. such get-togethers are arranged at national and even at international level.
Arranging specific programmes for promoting new products, new process approaches etc.
Understanding specific problems of different institutes and students and helping them to overcome the same as much as possible.
Improving confidence level amongst the students.
Encouraging the students for becoming creative to solve various problems faced by them.
Regularly acting as visiting lectures, paper setters, examiners etc. for different teaching institutes.
Wherever possible encouraging and helping the students to become self-employed persons through enterprises and startups.
Providing library facilities wherever essential.
Whenever feasible helping the parent institute in fund raising.
Felicitating outstanding achievers from existing students and alumni members.

The alumni associations usually work through above mentioned steps only. But, the difference is seriousness kept while carrying out these activities and focusing on the result achieved.

We are proud about the results achieved so far. But, we are not self-satisfied. Our aim is to reach higher and higher and become a role model alumni association for others.

Institute has accredited with A+ Grade (3.53 CGPA) by NAAC and Most of the programmes accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi.
ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institute.
Institute has awarded with ‘Best Industry-Linked Engineering Institute-2015’ and ‘Best Industry-Linked Engineering Institute-2017’ in the nation-wide survey conducted jointly by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
Institute has been honored as “Best Educational Institute for Textile Engineering” by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi at ‘Textile Conclave 2013’.
Highest number of Merit Scholarship from Shivaji University Kolhapur.
Tata Consultancy Services has accredited institute for academic collaboration and students’ placement.
Textile Institute Manchester (UK) has accredited the Textile Technology course for five years from Oct. 2014 onwards.
100% placement of textile students & above 85% for engineering students at national and International level.
Institute has been sanctioned Govt. Sponsored Projects worth of more than Rs.52.00 Crores from different Ministries, Govt. bodies like Ministry of Textiles, TEQIP World Bank, DOIP, DST, AICTE, DRDO, IEI, etc.
Center of Excellence ( COE ) - Govt. of India, Ministry of Textiles has granted Rs.25 Crores to establish a Center of Excellence in Nonwovens.. Also for establishing Focused Incubation Center Ministry of Textiles sanctioned worth of Rs. 2.70 Crore.
Institute has received worth Rs. 22 Crore from Machinery manufactures from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, and Spain and Sponsored Laboratories from Bosch, Intel, Nvidia, Robotics, ARM University, Texas Instruments etc.
Collaboration with IIT Bombay for: Remote Centre under e-Outreach project under MHRD Project of Government of India (22 Programs). Aakash Tablets for Faculty and student, e-Yantra Nodal Center, E-Foundry Cell.
SMART Foundry 2020 Project - DST has sanctioned Rs. 85 Lakhs under TSDP project for the development of SMART Foundry system to get young people interested in manufacturing.
Collaborations with leading foreign universities like Eastern Michigan University (USA), North Carolina State university (USA), Troy University (USA), DeVry University (USA), Canyatta University (Canya), University of California Los Angeles (USA), CopperBelt University (Zambia), BusitemaUniversity(Uganda), The School of Technology (Indonesia). HonchschuleNiederrhin University (Germany), Chinenkuo Technology University (Taiwan), Technical University of Laberec (Czech Republic), Wuhan university (China),Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan (South Korea), Chonnam National University, Gwanju (South Korea).
Institute has signed MoU with very renowned SGGS Institute of Engineering & Technology (Nanded) , BVBCET College of Engineering and Technology(Hubballi),College of Engineering Pune (COEP-Pune).
MoUs signed with industries like ACMIT, Rieter, Smit, ITEMA, FONG, DOGETECH, Microsoft, AGTECK, Bharat Forge, Himmatsingka, Dyster, BASF, IBM, Infosys, Jade Global, Zensar Technologies, IIT Bombay, Texas Instruments for training and R & D.
