DKTE’S Textile & Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji (Top Autonomous Engineering College In Maharashtra), established in 1982, as one of the first private Engineering Institutes in Maharashtra, DKTE reflects the vision of leading industrialists and educationalists. The vast exposure and experience of it’s founders has helped DKTE to establish it’s identity as an Institute of repute in the field of Textile & Engineering College in Maharashtra. The Autonomous Engineering Institute has been awarded “A+” grade by NAAC with 3.53 CGPA in recognition of its overall academic excellence and infrastructure. Also all the eligible UG programmes have been accredited by NBA, New Delhi.
Presently the DKTE (Autonomous Engineering Colleges In Maharashtra) has been catering to Three Diploma Courses, Twelve Undergraduate courses (Five of them in Textiles & Seven in Engineering), Five P.G. Courses & Doctorate programs in Engineering & Textiles and Management studies program. We have around 4000 students and 209 faculty members.
Our institute has emerged as the Winner of ‘Best Industry-Linked Engineering Institute-2015 & 2017’ twice in Chemical & Allied Engineering Institute Category in the nation-wide survey conducted jointly by AICTE and CII. The institute has also been honored as ‘The Best Educational Institute for Textile Engineering’ by Ministry of Textiles, GoI, in 2013.
Our institute has been identified to act as “Mentor Institution” under AICTE’s Margdarshak Scheme and also as a “Potential Mentor” by UGC under PARAMARSH scheme to promote Quality and Accreditation under UGC.
We have Collaborated with many leading Foreign Universities Our Institute has been awarded with many prestigious projects by Govt. of India like Centre of Excellence in Nonwovens, TBI by DST, TIFAC-CORE by DST, TEQIP, etc worth of more than 60 Crore Rupees. Govt. of India, Ministry of Textiles has designated our institute as ‘Centre of Excellence in Nonwovens’ and has supported with worth of Rs.25.0 Crores to this project.

In spite of the process of the phenomenal growth of the textile industry which was taking place at Ichalkaranji during last 25 years there was no educational institute up to 1980 which could cater to the industry's need for technically trained manpower. The local industry was facing handicapped due to the dearth of technically qualified personnel. Different co-op. organizations from Ichalkaranji, therefore, came together under the leadership of Mr. K.B. Awade (Ex. M.P.) to educational society in 1981 with a view to start institutes and colleges to cater to education in the field of Textiles ...
I extend a very hearty welcome to all of you. I am very happy to note that a small sapling planted in 1982 has grown into a huge banyan tree. It has been a hugely satisfying journey. I applaud the sincere efforts of all the faculty and staff that have put in endless hours of toil to achieve this. But, this is definitely not the end. I want this institute to grow even more and create engineers capable of taking on the new challenges of today. Educational Institutes have a critical role in providing the students with all the necessary inputs required to make them global citizens. In today’s advanced world, Institutes are more of a facilitator of knowledge than just a provider of knowledge. Students need to be given all the knowledge, skills and ability so that they are able to appreciate the changes happening in society and adapt to them. After securing a respectable score in my 12 th grade, I opted Textiles program at DKTE for my undergraduate studies. I never have regretted that decision remembering not only my rich experience as a student at DKTE but also considering the tremendous opportunities that I have been showered throughout my consistent textiles career so far. A truly unmatched textile engineering education at DKTE which is based on understanding the technology fundamentals that laid a solid foundation for my budding career. At the core of all the textiles programs at DKTE, the valuable hands-on experience through textile laboratory training and industry-focused trainings have provided me a much-needed exposure and confidence to serve as a technology leader all along.
When I stepped into the institute in 1992, I was nascent mind and, it was the DKTE that shaped me to stand in the Industry. DKTE has made profound impact on my personal & professional life. It imbibed in me values like, honesty, hard work, dedication, go getter, seek to be better and give best in you. Even when the resources were less, institute strived to give us industry exposure, made us learn and understand practical way of working and not limited us to theory only. It prepared us well and we had hands on experience, when we stepped out of institute. I did not understand it then, but today when I look back about myself, there is deep sense of gratitude about DKTE and all my professors and staff.
I cherished the feeling of studying at DKTE during my studies. Biggest strength of DKTE is dedicated and caring faculty and staff. Also, Department of Textiles is well equipped with state of the art facilities that helped me in gaining the knowledge of modern technology. I would always be grateful to DKTE for giving me a multi-dimensional learning by providing the apt mix of academic, industry exposure, attitude and leadership. Also, during college years I made friends for life. I am really proud to be a dkten.
Joining DKTE’s TEI Institute for MBA has been the best decision of my academic career after completing my graduation in Computers. The two years spent here have helped me to grow better professionally & personally in every sphere of life. It wouldn't have been possible without the guidance and mentorship that was given to me and still continues.

Apart from the majestic campus backed by astonishing infrastructure, studying at DKTES TEI gave me a leading start with a lifelong career excellence. From the very supporting faculties and lab technicians to excellent pedagogy, all helped me enhance my skills to the optimum and is still inspiring me to excel. My education at DKTE was an experience for lifetime and will stay with me forever. I really enjoyed every part of my study at DKTE from classes, practical lab sessions, and industrial visits to departmental functions both technical and non-technical. I would attribute much of my success in career in France and Germany to the solid foundation I received from my studies and experiences at DKTE.
